June meeting

A recap of last night's FUN meeting! -

Jay McCarroll's Habitat challenge is ready to get going!  Fabric just arrived today:
Are you ready, gals?!  Let's get brainstorming!

We also did lots of show 'n tell, which was inspiring, as always:
This was Lisa's roadrunner panel....she demo-ed her newly-acquired skill of machine-appliqueing, using the blanket stitch, rayon thread on top and cotton thread in the bobbin....and going VERY SLOWLY.  This picture doesn't do it justice....
Debbie made this potholder, ready for Balloon Fiesta!  She used a special foot to make the circular stitching, but don't ask me to explain how SHE explained how it works....we just oooohhed and aaaahhed.

Debi showed off her Justice League quilt, one of 2 made for her boys....this picture doesn't DO it justice!  (really, I DID NOT intend that pun!)

Hettie showed off her "stack & whack" block quilt....all done!

Judy showed off finished blocks of her monster quilt....too cute!

Jay McCarroll on his way.....!

OK, not Jay himself, but his new line, Habitat.  The ABQ Modern Quilt Guild is signed up to receive a colorway from his new line, and participate in creating blocks and making quilts for this challenge!  More about it HERE.
Get your creative minds going, ladies!
